Novice Majors Win The Capital Cup Tournament
The Novice Majors took home the cup this weekend!!! The Stars came out hot on Friday with a commanding 7-0 win over Chatham to start off the tournament. An early morning game in Wheatly proved to be a little more difficult. The Stars were up 6-2 going into the 3rd against a very talented Blenheim Bruins. The Bruins fought back hard and ended up winning the contest 7-6 in the final 1:30 of play. This did not sit well with the Stars!!!

The Southpoint Capitals were up next, and the Stars knew what they had to do to get another shot at the Bruins. They did just that, with a 9-1 win over the Capitals. There was only one team left that stood between the Stars and their chance at another shot at the undefeated Bruins. That shot was against the rival Erie North Shore Storm, the only team in Bluewater that the stars have not defeated. The Stars shined bright in another early morning start on Sunday with a nail biting 3-2 first time victory over the Storm. The Stars knew what they had to do next. Only one team stood between them and a championship win, and that was the Bruins. The Stars came out on fire and kept their foot on the gas the entire game. The Stars won the game and the tournament, with a commanding 8-3 victory over the Bruins. This is the 2nd tournament win for this team and also the 2nd year in a row that the Amherstburg Novice Major Stars have won this title!!! Congratulation Stars, we are all very proud of you!!!!
The Novice Majors would also like to Congratulate the Midget Majors for taking home the cup in their respective division!!!! GO STARS!!!
