AMHA - UDATE TO MERGER DISCUSSIONS
Submitted By Webmaster on Sun 01 15, 23
Attention AMHA members,

There have been discussions over the last week with the Bluewater League. The discussions involved the possibility of Bluewater members and all of their centres applying to become 'A' base category centres.

Most centres are in favour of this pursuit, and the Bluewater League intends to pursue this opportunity further in the very near future, with the possibility of this programming as early as next season (2023/2024).

With these latest developments, the AMHA Board of Executives have unanimously voted in favour of halting discussions with the LaSalle Minor Hockey Association regarding a merger. With the potentially changing landscape in the Bluewater League, we feel it is not an ideal time to be making any significant changes and that these developments, if successful, will strengthen AMHA.

With discussions being halted with LMHA, this means there will be no information sessions this week at either arena, and no upcoming membership vote.

We'd like to thank the LaSalle Minor Hockey Association and their sub-committee for taking the time to meet with us over the last few months.

Best regards,

Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association - Board of Executives
