Amherstburg Takes 3 Points over the Weekend to Move into First Place in Bluewater
The Peewee Minor Stars opened the weekend with a hard fought 1-1 tie in Chatham. Despite having 3 goals disallowed, the Stars battled back and with 4:05 seconds left in the third, the Stars banged in the equalizer. Sundays game, back at home, had the Stars facing their “A” rival out of Riverside.
The Rangers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Stars answered back with 5 consecutive goals before Riverside scored in the dying seconds of the game. With a 5-3 victory, the Stars moved 1 point ahead of the Windsor Spitfires for 1st place in the Bluewater division. This sets up an intriguing match-up when the Stars go on the road to face Windsor, Wednesday night at Forest Glade arena. All players contributed at both ends of the ice, and continue to get stronger each game. Stay tuned.
