97 Amherstburg Star’s Final Game Notes for the 2010/2011 Season
A big
congratulations to the 97 Amherstburg Bantam Minor team after a record breaking
season came to a conclusion. In a
season of many trials and challenges the players pulled together and gave 100%
throughout every game and eventually found
success in many ways. A few
important and interesting team memories are noted as follows:
1)
The team won the Motown Cup for the second time in as many
tries
2)
4 players earned over 35 points this season
3)
One player got 86 minutes of penalties (not including majors)
4)
Most games tied in a ’97 season at 10 knotted results
5)
Our top points achieved by a single player was an outstanding
53
6)
One player only received 2 minutes of penalty time
7)
Defenseman played tough all year including one who achieved 13
assists
8)
A winning record achieved this season with 20 wins, 10 ties
and 19 loss
9)
Seven players missed games due to injury this year
10)
Since New Year’s the 97’s had only 7 losses out of 21 games
with a short roster

Exceptional goaltending backed the defence to their lowest
goals against ever

All players on the roster gave a full out effort at every game
13)
The 97 Star’s posted their highest season points total ever at
32!!
14)
The coaching staff including Ron, Jason, Lisa, Gregg and Rick
believed in these young men and did an excellentjob in teaching them how to
attain all the milestones mentioned!
