Novice Maroon - 3/12 Udpate
Great showing today after having the week off. The kids battled hard and we saw a great team effort from all the players. J. Desantis made some huge saves and had the post to post butterfly down pat...
...and as a result, held Orange off.
As you may or may not know, Teal lost to Blue today in an exciting shootout and as a result we will end up playing Blue in the 2-game Final on Mar. 26 and 27 (Day of Champions). If we split those games, we will go into a shootout after the 2nd game.
We haven't told the kids that we are in the Final just yet, but will shortly. Also, there may be some type of gathering/banquet after the Mar. 27th game so please don't make plans to leave right after the game. More to follow as we are made aware.
Tomorrow A. Kelly will suit up as Tender in practice. Next week he will play net during the Exhibition game and we will determine who will be playing net for the Finals shortly. We told the kids we are very fortunate to be able to compete well week in and week out without having a dedicated Goalie. It is a positive reflection on the depth of our team and the progress that each player has made throughout the season.
