Woodstock Tournament Success

Game one saw us in tough against the host Woodstock team, where we dug deep to grind out the win in a Shoot-out, after a scoreless OT period...
Game two was a disappointing 4-0 loss against Oakville (2nd Ranked 'A' Team in Ontario) but the kids put in a valiant effort.
Game three (of the day on Saturday) was handily won 11-0 against North London. Another superb team effort.
After a 2-1 record on Saturday, that placed us 2nd in our Division to face the #1 Team (Sarnia) of the other division in the Semis. A close game after 2 periods saw our boys light it up in the 3rd for a commanding 7-2 win.
This set us up for the Finals against the strong Oakville team once again. After taking a 1-0 lead, Oakville was quick to respond and tie it up 1-1 in the first. Periods 2 and 3 would solve nothing in this heated, exciting final. That took us to Overtime, which after the first OT, would remain a tie. There would be no shoot out in the Tournament Final, so on to the 2nd OT. A continued hard fought battle would see us on the wrong end of a phenomenal and exciting game, and unfortunately end up losing 2-1. The kids left it all on the ice and to finish 2nd to the #2 ranked team in Ontario, and take them to double OT, is nothing short of outstanding for this group of kids.
Congrats to the Players and the entire Coaching Staff for making us proud.
