Major Midgets Get Back to Winning Ways
The Major Midget Stars were looking to get back to winning ways as they welcomed into the Libro Centre last Thursday evening; the Kent Cobras.  The Stars started off the scoring at the 10:12 mark of the second period, when Kyle Meloche slid a backhanded pass to Garrett Blunt in front of the net who poked the puck past The Cobra net-minder.  Moments later that line would strike again!  Kyle Meloche fired a wrister into a open net as the Kent Goaltender was down searching for the puck.  The Kent Cobras secured the next two goals, and tied the game early in the third period.

Both teams picked up the intensity, looking to snatch victory, when at the  6:09 mark of the third period, Colton McGregor fired a clapper from the point, and Mitch Holden was able to deflect the puck past the Cobras Goaltender.  Thomas Demarco made some key saves to protect the lead late in the third.  The Stars got the 3-2 win, and Demarco stayed undefeated on the season.  Looking to keep the momentum going, The Stars traveled to Tecumseh on Saturday night to face-off against The Eagles.  The pace was fast but neither team was able to score in the first period.  Finally, at the 2:05 point of the second period, The Stars struck first!  While on the power play, Colton McGregor fired a shot from the point, and the puck was tipped past the Eagle's Goaltender by Zach Fritsch.  The Stars carried the 1-0 lead into the third period, but early in the third period one of The Eagle's forwards walked out from the corner and backhanded the puck past The Stars goalie.  Both teams picked up the pace throughout the period, but the game would end in a 1-1 tie. The Stars will holding a bottle and can recycling fundraiser on Saturday November 15th.  So if you would like to support the team and live in Kingsbridge, Monopoly, or Amherst Point subdivisions, please have your extra cans and bottles ready that morning.
