Friday evening The Major Midget Stars faced off against their neighbors from the North, The LaSalle Sabres. This one started real fast, as The Sabres were the ones who struck first when they were able to get past a pinching Stars defenseman, and tucked home the goal at the 12:26 point of the first. While on the powerplay, Reed Thrasher blasted a shot from the point, and Nick Bertram tipped in the tying goal at the 11:10 mark of the first. Quickly, it would be Nick Bertram again who would strike off a Mitch Holden pass to give The Stars the lead.
Cory Burns would add another goal late in the first, to tie the game 3-3; going into the second. Play seemed to settle down in the second period, until Jacob Damico fired a wrister low blocker and gave The Stars the lead heading into the third period. Twelve seconds into the third, The Sabres were able to chip one past The Stars Goaltender to tie the game. Both teams applied extreme pressure throughout the whole third period, but the game would end in a 4-4 tie. Nick Bertram finished with two goals on the night. Sunday night The Stars welcomed to town the number one Major Midget A team in Ontario, The Riverside Rangers. Looking to put an end to a four game winless streak, Corey Burns started off the scoring, when he tipped a Mitch Holden shot through the five hole of The Rangers goalie, giving The Stars the early lead. Midway through the second period, while on the power play, Jacob Damico sauced a pass from behind the net, and Ernie Godden slammed home the goal giving The Stars the 2-0 lead. Late in the second, The Stars found themselves 2 men down after a couple of undisciplined penalties, and The Rangers were able to get on the board. It was a 2-1 lead for The Stars heading into the third period, but again while killing a penalty, The Rangers got the equalizer. Both teams pressed for the winning goal, but in the second consecutive game The Stars lost a one goal lead heading into the third. The game ended 2-2.
