5 Local Players Participated In Bluewater Midget All-Star Game
Five members of The Major Midget Amherstburg Stars were selected to participate in  the 2014 Bluewater All-Star  Game and Skills Competition the previous weekend in Lakeshore.  On Team White, forwards Jacob Damico, Cory Burns, and Mitch Holden were joined by defencemen Ryan Wismer and Goaltender Thomas Demarco. The Weekend consisted of an skills competition, where The Stars represented themselves well as    Jacob Damico won fastest forward skater and highest vertical jump, Cory Burns won fastest obstacle course, and Ryan Wismer won hardest shot and fastest backwards skater.  Ryan Wismer was crowned as the overall winner of the skills competition. 

The next evening, the White Team did lose a tight game in a shootout, but Cory Burns was named third Star of the game.  This past weekend, The Stars Traveled to Fort Erie to participate in The Fort Erie Major Midget A Tournament.  The Stars were looking forward to see how they measured up to the talent in the Niagara Valley area.  With preliminary round wins over Dundas (4-1), and Port Perry (3-1), the Stars faced off against Tillsonburg in the quarter finals where they won 4-0, with a shutout from Goaltender Josh Paquette.  Sunday morning The Stars met The Welland Tigers in the Semi-Finals, who were looking for some revenge from last years early playdown exit, handed to them by the OMHA Champions.  Welland struck first, but Cory Burns quickly tied the game heading into the second period.  On the powerplay, Welland again struck to give them the 2-1 lead which would be good enough for the win.  Goal Scorers for the Tournament were: Damico(6), Holden(2), Burns(2),Benninger(1),Purdie(1).  The Stars are back at league play next weekend against Southpointe, and Riverside.
