TRAVEL TOURNAMENT RULES AND INFORMATION

 

This tournament is sanctioned by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). Hence, the tournament will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of the OMHA. Tournament headquarters/sign in will be in the AMHA office located at the dressing room hallway. All teams are required to have their coaching staff sign in at least one hour before their first game.

 

Two weeks prior to the tournament, team officials are required to surrender a copy of their association approved electronic roster sheet, travel permit. Only approved Affiliate player rosters will be accepted and a copy must be provided prior to playing the first round robin game. Only certified and rostered persons are allowed on the bench.

 

Game Format: Atom and Pewee Divisions

 

Ø  3 games, home & away round robin

 

Round Robin Point System:

 

Ø  2 points for a win

Ø  1 point for a tie

Ø  0 points for a loss

 

Round Robin Play:

 

Ø  Warm up = 3 minutes

Ø  Game = 10-15-15, stop time

Ø  No time outs

Ø  In the event of a 5 goal or more differential at any time in the 3rd period, the clock will convert to run time”. Once the goal differential is returned to 3 or less in the 3rd period, the clock will convert back to “stop time”.

Ø  No overtime period(s) permitted


 

 

Game Format: Bantam Division

 

Ø  3 games, home & away round robin

 

Round Robin Point System:

 

Ø  2 points for a win

Ø  1 point for a tie

Ø  0 points for a loss

Ø  Warm up = 3 minutes

Ø  Game = 15-15-15, stop time

Ø  No time outs

Tie Breaking Format:

 

In the event of a tie in the pool standings, the following tie breaking criteria will be applied in the following order:

 

1.   Head to head in round robin play

2.   Goals for and against +/-

3.   Fewest penalty minutes in head to head play

4.   Fewest penalty minutes in round robin play

5.   Coin toss

 

Tournament chair decision will be final.

 

Elimination and Championship Play: Atom and Peewee Divisions

Jerseys:

 

Ø  All teams will require home and away sweaters (light & dark)

Ø  The home team shall wear their light sweaters

 

Dressing Room Allocation and Keys:

 

Dressing rooms are assigned and room numbers are posted on the main lobby screen as you enter the arena. Dressing room keys are available from the tournament staff in the AMHA office near the dressing room hallway. A set of car keys must be surrendered to obtain the key. Your cooperation in leaving the dressing rooms as

quickly and clean as possible is greatly appreciated. Please return the dressing room key to the arena’s front desk

in exchange for your car keys.

 


 

Tournament Suspensions:

 

Any player assessed a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct (GM30 or GM31) will be suspended from any further tournament play. It is the responsibility of the team official to find out if any suspensions occurred in their games. Tournament suspensions are recorded and submitted to the OMHA daily and will be served during tournament play.  Check with local associations for rules governing carryovers.

 

General:

 

Teams should be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to arrival should the tournament be running ahead of schedule.

 

By entering into this tournament, the coach or manager on behalf of their teams releases the AMHA, tournament committee and all officials, referees, sponsors, volunteers, arena management and all concerned with the tournament from any and all liability of injury or accident which may be incurred by any player or team official while participating in or coming to or going from the tournament.

 

The decision of the referees is final, no appeals will be heard.

 

The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. All decisions of the tournament committee are final.
