Attention AMHA members. There has been an increase in spoofed/spam emails appearing to come from AMHA board members. It is important to review the email before responding with any information.
The emails coming in have even appeared to have some of your athletes names as the subject line. While this is extremely concerning, AMHA has been dealing with this issue for years. They are making it seem like AMHA board members are sending emails out when in fact, they are not from us.
When you see these emails, please evaluate the following:
- Is the email asking you to do something for the board?
- Is the sender saying they are too busy to talk and only deal via email?
- AMHA will never ask you to purchase anything for us and we would pay you back. Especially Apple gift cards, etc.
- Please check the email address it is showing when you hover over the name. If you do not recognize it or haven’t got email from AMHA from this email before, it is likely a spoofed email.
- When it doubt, please reach out to the person the email is appearing to come from (DO NOT RESPOND TO THE EMAIL DIRECTLY). Find the persons email and contact them directly.
I have received several messages this morning that emails have appeared to come from me. Only emails you will see from me will come from [email protected] or [email protected].
