A message from the Leblanc Family...
AMHA would like to thank everyone for coming out to this event to support one of our own. Below is a message we wanted to pass on from the Leblanc Family...
Our son, Vincent, was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour in July 2024, and his journey to better health has only just begun. The tumour has caused him additional health challenges, but he is persevering. We are truly humbled by the outpouring of support from our community – our work community, school community at St. Joseph Elementary and where we call home, Amherstburg.
At this time, we would like to specifically thank the Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association for hosting the skate-a-thon. Vincent was on the ice playing hockey at the age of 4, and we know how special he would feel to know all of us are here rooting him on.
We want to thank everyone who had a hand in organizing or participating in the event. In addition, we want to thank everyone who raised money, donated prizes and came out to skate for him. He has made many wonderful friends over the years playing hockey and we know many of them have worked hard raising money to support him or sending him cards of encouragement.
Thank you to everyone in the community who has been supporting him on social media. Just seeing his story being shared gives us a strong sense of hope and support from our wonderful community. In addition, we would like to thank other groups including the Amherstburg Minor Soccer Association, the Windsor Police Service, and the many local businesses, such as Sobeys who have shown their support.
Finally to our family, friends, neighbours and Vincent’s school peers, please know your compassion for him is felt in every gesture you have shown. This gives us strength and encouragement to continue pressing forward to advocate for him, and to be his strongest anchor.
With sincere appreciation,
Paul and Sophia LeBlanc
