The Amherstburg 97 Stars played a hard fought game against the Belle River Jr. Canadiens this afternoon but unfortunately came up just short in a 2-1 loss.  After a scoreless first period Belle River opened up the scoring in the 2nd period to take a 1-0 lead.  The Stars tied up the game when #6 Allen found the back of the net in which would be the 97's only goal.  During a back and forth battle, Belle River was able to get the game winner in a penalty laden third period.
