Notes
Tuesday night at the UCCU found the Amherstburg Midget Minor's hosting the Riverside Rangers for their second matchup of the season. The Ranger's would have the lone goal in the first which would stand until midway through the second when Amherstburg's Ryan Wismer's sent a pass to Mitch Holden who drove one at the net leaving a nice rebound for Spencer Benvenuto who flipped it into the net for a goal. Later in the same frame Mitch Holden pressed through a crowd of defense and lifted the puck past the Ranger's goaltender for the go ahead goal. As the game continued Star's goaltender Josh Paquette came up with many huge saves including a couple of waved off goals and shutting down a 5 on 3 power play as well. After the intermission the Ranger's came back with the tie goal after crashing through Paquette's net. Despite the hard work in the crease along with a hard playing defensive effort by the Star's, Riverside came up with four unanswered goals for a 5-2 win. Shots received on goal, Amherstburg 38, Riverside 28 The Star's will play Riverside once again at the WFCU on Nov 16th. Go Stars!
