Notes
Friday nights home game at the UCCU had the 97 Star's once again sending Erie North Shore back home with out a win! Amherstburg came out looking for a win in this the first of a 3 game weekend series, and they were successful. The game proved to be more of a defensive battle as both teams were kept off the scoreboard until late in the third period. The games first goal was scored by Mitch Holden, assisted by Kyle Fockens and Avery Brush giving the Star's a 1-0 lead. But just a minute later Star's goalie Josh Paquette would pick up an assist as well after he fed a pass up to Cory Burns, who then put it onto the stick of Spencer Benvenuto who drove it into the net for the insurance goal. At this point the Star's defensive units once again stepped up holding Erie North Shore off the scoreboard throughout a shorthanded situation for the last two minutes. Josh Paquette would get to celebrate his birthday with a much deserved shutout! Final Score 2-0 Go Stars!!
