Notes
The Amherstburg Star's hosted the Windsor Jr Spitfires this Sunday at the UCCU Complex. The Star's knew they were in for a battle facing two of the top teams in the league in as many days. Amherstburg put Wes Werner between the pipes who played solid in facing over 50 shots before the game ended. The scoring started when the Star's Cory Burns pushed the puck to Brent Allen, who assisted when he fed the puck over to Mitch Holden who got the games first goal. Midway through the first period Windsor would put a rebound in making the game a tie at one. In the same period the Star's on the penalty kill would fall behind one more when Windsor scored their second. Later in the 2nd while trailing 3-1 the Star's would light the red light when Kane Morneau and Michael Lenson assisted an unstoppable Spencer Benvenuto who pushed through two defenders keeping the puck on his stick until he drove home the Star's second goal of the match. However, the Midget Minor's would be denied for the remainder of the game while their opponent managed a couple more for a final score of 5-2 for Windsor. Next Star's game is 7:20 Friday night at home versus Kent. Go Stars!
