Notes
The Midget Minor Star's once again found themselves awarded a berth in the semi finals. It would end up being a rematch of the game played the previous night versus the host team Riverside Rangers. Josh Paquette played very strong keeping Amherstburg in the game throughout this ongoing rivalry. This time it would be Riverside that would get the first goal. Despite many scoring chances for the Star's, the mesh remained elusive. Riverside got their second of the game during a power play putting them ahead by a pair. The Star's continued to battle in front of the Riverside net and after many near misses, Spencer Benvenuto provided a nice rebound that was finished off by Joel Rorseth who scored Amherstburg's lone goal. Later in the final period Braeden Derksen would keep the Midget Minor's in the game when he chased down and spoiled a Rangers breakaway. With the team down by one, the Star's played hard until the end, but Riverside would get the insurance goal and the win with a final score of 3-1. The Riverside team would eventually lose to Mt.Clemens in the tournament final. Amherstburg's Midget Minor's were successful in this tournament once again making it to the semi finals during a flurry of tightly contested low scoring match ups. Keep up the hard work Star's!
