Special to the RTT The Amherstburg Stars novice major team traveled to Fort Erie this past weekend, and thanks to a 3-2 win Saturday and a 7-2 win Sunday, the team came home OMHA Champions!

Novice Stars even OMHA final with convincing win over Fort Erie

Special to the RTT On the heels of a 1-0 loss to the Fort Erie Meteors Saturday evening in the first game of the OMHA finals, the Amherstburg Stars novice team knew they had to step up in the second game. The Stars rebounded nicely and won a convincing 6-1 decision over Fort Erie Sunday afternoon at the Libro Centre. The win evens the six-point series at two points apiece heading into Games 3 and 4 in Fort Erie this weekend.

Novice Majors Win The Capital Cup Tournament

The Novice Majors took home the cup this weekend!!! The Stars came out hot on Friday with a commanding 7-0 win over Chatham to start off the tournament. An early morning game in Wheatly proved to be a little more difficult. The Stars were up 6-2 going into the 3rd against a very talented Blenheim Bruins. The Bruins fought back hard and ended up winning the contest 7-6 in the final 1:30 of play. This did not sit well with the Stars!!!
