Around the town of Amherstburg last Monday, there were 16 young men who happen to play hockey for the midget major Stars program that all made salon appointments as golden mohawks and blonde “mo-fros” were getting clipped to the floor.That was because their hockey season officially came to an end but not before they claimed their fifth piece of hardware and were crowned the true champions of all of Ontario.When the final whistle blew in Timmins, the Stars realized they had yet another dream come true and all their hard work had paid its dividends just as head coach Glen Holden promised in September.

Thank you to the OMHA Alumni from 2009-2010 for coming out to prepare us (and kick our butts) for the OHF's in Timmins. You are STARS for your past accomplishments and for still giving back to all those who remember your WIN from 4 years ago. The fact that you won the OMHA championship after 23 years showed the up and coming STARS that this was possible.
Thanks to all of our FANS who supported us for the Alumni Game and who have supported us ALL year.
Finally, a big thank you to all who supported the Midget Major Team with your generous donations to help defray costs for our Trip to the OHF's.

Special to the RTT The Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association celebrated its most successful year ever this season as three teams (novice, bantam major and midget major) all won their OMHA championships in a span of three hours last Sunday.Some might say it was the worst winter ever, but for 54 aspiring hockey stars from Amherstburg, it was truly the greatest winter of their lives.
