Midget Majors Win Pertolia Silverstick Tournament
For the second straight year, the Amherstburg Midget Majors win the Silverstick Tournament in Petrolia, Ont. After losing their first game 4-3 vs Dorchester Majors in the double knockout style tournament, they were put in to a worst case scenario, needing to eliminate every team to win. Each game after that was win and play again, lose and go home.
Games were played every day from Dec 28, 13 until Jan 2, 14. In the six trips out to Petrolia, the Stars eliminated Mooretown, London Bandits, Strathroy, Dorchester Major and finally the home town team Petrolia who had to be defeated 2 times to be eliminated. For the Majors that was a 6 game winning steak to Gold in front of a home town crowd of 450 Petrolia fans. The Stars definitely showed up to win. Way to Go Boys!!!
