Novice Maroon - 3/26 Update
The quest for the Holy Grail continues (but let's not put any emphasis on this - we're keeping it low-key with the kids :^)
An exciting Game #1 Final today which saw a hard-fought battle between 2 strong teams. We witnessed a lot of back and forth action...
... and though we didn't give up a lot of shots, A. Salmon was our Brick wall in net and stopped the excellent chances that were thrown at us by Blue.
We've preached this all year to the kids, and they showed it today - great TEAM EFFORT. Our Forwards generated opportunities, our Defense kept the shot count low and cleared the puck wonderfully, and our Tender stood tall. We saw contribution / effort from each player and positionally we were very sound. We as a Staff all agree that the kids have made huge strides since the beginning of the year, and collectively progressed very well overall.
Hopefully tomorrow we can continue the solid Team Effort and we hope that the kids have fun, regardless of the outcome. Please be sure your kids get a good night sleep tonight and come ready to play tomorrow. Again, we'd like the kids fully dressed and in the room when the Zamboni goes on so we can have a pre-game chat with just the Coaches/Players.
Reminder that right after the game tomorrow (10:30am puck drop ;-), there will be a brief Day Of Champions gathering at the arena where the kids will receive their individual trophy and have a bite to eat. Bring your cameras and some Black Markers (some players like to have their Teammates sign their Jersey's - which they should wear to the gathering). See you in the morning...
