Held off Blue for a 5-3 game!
Great effort today team holding off a late game charge by Blue. At the end, the clock was our friend and we pulled off a 5-3 win. We had a short bench today, but the kids had enough gas in their tank to pull it off. Our goal scorers today were Adam, Carson (2), Brayden and Ryan P. Assists from Ryan B, Cam W and William rounded out the scoring. Joe L had a strong game in net, even though he
faced a lot of shots. A special shout out today goes to Adam, Ryan B and Justin C for very strong games. Ryan B played his first game at defense and put in a real strong effort. Adam and Justin were skating real well and played strong at both ends of the ice. Good job boys. Like usual our defense Brayden, Cameron S, Jacob S, Max and Ryan B played strong, kept the puck in the Blue end and played well in our end.
The forwards of Justin, Carson, William, Adam, Ryan P and Cameron W were also solid, controlling the puck in the neutral zone and offensive end. Great effort guys!
Today's learning point is geared to our defense, who got so excited with our offense today they wanted to join in. Our guys were caught out of position a few times today, rushing up the ice. Remember guys you need to stay back and head man the puck. Our forwards had to keep stopping on the offensive blue line waiting for a pass from the defense. The team loses the forward momentum this way and offensively don't get a chance to really pressure the goalie.
