Team White is ready for the day of Champions!
The team has had a very solid month and has great momentum heading into the day of Champions. Our final game against Burgundy was a real show of offense and defense, with a final wining score of 5-0. Rees was very strong in net, stopping all Burgundy shots. With the help of very strong defense, Jacob, William and Ryan P., the number of shots by Burgundy were few and far between. At the other end our strong offense was led by Carson who scored a hat trick and Cameron W. who assisted on four goals. Other scorers were Joey L. [our regular goalie, who also had two assists] and Nathan [also an assist]. Jacob and William both added assists to round out the point total.
Our next two games are against Blue on the Days of Champions. Saturday's game is at 11:00 a.m. [Rink A] and Sunday's game is at 8:30 a.m. [Rink B]. The winner of the two game series ends the year in third.
The kids have been great this year and it has been a real privilege being part of this team as your coach. I want to thank Mike and Derek for helping me coach this year and I know the kids and the parents appreciated their assistance. The kids have really improved from the beginning of the year, playing awesome in the Hospice Tournament and finishing the year real strong. Each parent should be very proud of their player, as all the young boys on the team have been very mature and responsible players. They all took instruction well, showed up at most of the practices and showed some very fine teamwork!
Let's all go out and work hard next weekend and win our games against Blue.
