A very strong offensive effort by the team today, with two players scoring hat tricks; Rees and Carson. Awesome job! Not to be outdone Cam W scored two on rebounds showing again how staying around the net creates opportunities. Another solid effort by Cam. All players were skating hard today and the end to end hockey was really exciting to watch. Overall a great effort ending with an 8-3 win over the top team, Grey.
Although the offense was the story of the day the players also played excellent defense, starting with another solid effort by Joey and our rock solid defense of Max, Cam S, William and Rees. Grey has had our number all year but with our strong defense we held them to only three goals.
Offensively we saw some nice clearing passes, neutral zone passing and our players in front of the grey goalie all game. The other forwards of Nathan, Adam, Ryan B [awesome forechecking], Ryan P, Justin and Jacob played very good two way hockey, continuously challenging team Grey by strong forechecking and tying up the neutral zone. Very strong team effort!! Keep up the hard work as we are getting closer to the end of the season. Next weekend we start the semi-finals.
Other notes:
- Sunday practice is at 1:30 [Rink B w/ Blue]
- Next Saturday game should be against team Burgundy at 11:00 [First of two semi-final games against them]. I will confirm and send out an email during the week.
