Stars Sweep Home and Home Against Erie Shore
The Major Midgets faced off against the Erie Shore Storm Friday night in the second game of a home and home series that saw the Stars in the first game, backstopped by Thomas Demarco, shut out the Storm 5-0. The Storm would be looking for a little payback and struck first at the 38 second mark of the first period that left the Stars trailing heading into the second period.

The Stars would get on the board early in the second, when Mitch Holden beat two defenders to the net and slammed home a pass from Cory Burns. Seconds later, Ernie Godden tipped in a Jarrod Smith shot from the point to give the Stars the lead.  The Stars would add to the lead when at the 6:08 mark of the second period Cory Burns fired a wrister that beat the the Storm's goalie over his left shoulder.  The Stars would score two more times in the second period explosion with goals by Zach Fritsch and Garrett Blount.  The Stars would add three more goals in the third period by Michael Lenson, Cory Burn, and Zach Fritsch, to give the Stars the 9-2 victory.  The winning goaltender was Josh Paquette.  Burns, Holden, and Fritsch all finished the night with two goals each. Forward Garrett Meloche said after the game," it was a good couple of nice wins for us, and a good way for our team to start creating some solid habits on the ice."
