White, Atom House League, 2011-2012 (Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association)

I wanted to say thanks to all who were involved with Team White this year, including all the parents, coach Mike, coach Derek and the players, Max, Ryan B., Justin, Nathan, Carson, William, Rees, Joey, Adam, Ryan P., Cam S., Jacob, Brayden and Cam W.  I hope you all had fun and will continue playing hockey for years to come.  It was a privelege to get to know all of you and I look forward to seeing you at the arena in the fall.  Good luck with baseball, soccer, golf, swimming, interpretive dance [for Brayden, I heard] or whatever other interests you have in the summer. The team has had a very solid month and has great momentum heading into the day of Champions. Our final game against Burgundy was a real show of offense and defense, with a final wining score of 5-0. Rees was very strong in net, stopping all Burgundy shots.  With the help of very strong defense, Jacob, William and Ryan P., the number of shots by Burgundy were few and far between.  At the other end our strong offense was led by Carson who scored a hat trick and Cameron W. who assisted on four goals.  Other scorers were Joey L. A very strong offensive effort by the team today, with two players scoring hat tricks;  Rees and Carson.  Awesome job!  Not to be outdone Cam W scored two on rebounds showing again how staying around the net creates opportunities.  Another solid effort by Cam.  All players were skating hard today and the end to end hockey was really exciting to watch.  Overall a great effort ending with an 8-3 win over the top team, Grey.

The team played very well today beating a strong Blue team 6-0, with a shut-out going to Joey, and a lot of offense led by Nathan and Rees [each scoring 2 goals].  The defense of William, Max, Cam S and Brayden [with some great help from Ryan P.] shut the Blue team out, and any time Blue got past our defense, Joey was a wall!   Another great game for Joe.    Justin C. had a well deserved goal, snapping a rebound, from Nathan's drive, behind the Blue Goalie.  Good positioning leads to better chances for goals and Justin showed us how! 

Today our team played a very hard and exciting game against the top Grey team. Although we lost 5-1 our team effort was excellent, much improved over our last two games.  Missing two players we really had to shuffle the lines.  Two of our normal forwards playing on defense today were Ryan P. and Rees.  Both played their positions very well and tie for the White stars of the game.  Great job guys!
